Harvesting the Sun
Fueling Alberta's Agricultural Future with Renewable Energy
Site One
Site One is a landmark solar energy project located 18 kilometers southwest of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Developed by MNPA Inc. in partnership with RESCo Energy—one of Canada’s largest and most awarded rooftop solar Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Maintenance (EPCM) firms—this project brings both innovation and expertise to Alberta’s renewable energy landscape.
With a capacity of 4.9 MW Site One will contribute to Alberta’s energy grid on an on-going basis.. This installation reduces rural Alberta’s dependence on large, centralized power generation and provides a sustainable, locally managed energy source.
Located on over 640 acres, the project benefits from a supportive landowner with a 25-year lease agreement, pre-existing infrastructure, and established access roads. Local stakeholder approvals have been secured, and the site’s connection capacity at the substation is confirmed, ensuring seamless integration into Alberta’s energy grid.
PHASE ONE
MNPA Inc. has successfully completed Phase 1 of our energy project, achieving major milestones that include securing county and stakeholder approvals, Fortis integration approval, and environmental clearance. Phase 1 has laid a strong foundation for sustainable energy development.
PHASE TWO
Building on the success of Phase 1, MNPA launched Phase 2, expanding the facility’s energy capacity to 4.9 MW. This phase demonstrates our commitment to scalable, efficient construction and operational excellence. By leveraging previously incurred costs, this expansion is designed to optimize returns on new investments, delivering greater energy output with streamlined efficiency.
PHASE THREE
Installation of transformers and high voltage equipment and upgrading distribution infrastructure.
Our team will then commission the system, verifying that each component is fully operational once energized through rigorous testing and acceptance procedures. At substantial completion, we’ll ensure a smooth transition to operations, delivering a fully integrated and dependable system.
PHASE FOUR
SITE ONE is expected to be online in January 2025.
